About Joni Watkins

Joni is a Registered NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner with Insightful Impact providing services across Western Sydney. She brings extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing complex behavioural, psychosocial, and environmental challenges, with a strong focus on improving safety, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Joni’s practice is grounded in trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches, with expertise in supporting individuals impacted by mental heal challenges, trauma and domestic and family violence. Through her work she has developed advanced skills in risk assessment, safety planning, behavioural formulation, and multi-agency collaboration across health, housing, legal, and community services.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, Joni works closely with participants, families, and support teams to understand the underlying drivers of behaviours of concern and develop practical, person-centred strategies that support long-term positive change. Her approach prioritises collaboration, safeguarding, and strengths-based engagement, ensuring behaviour support strategies are realistic, respectful, and sustainable within everyday environments.

Joni is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and holds a Diploma of Counselling and a Diploma of Community Services. She has undertaken extensive professional development in risk assessment, suicide prevention, trauma-informed practice, complex case management, and domestic and family violence response.

Her work is informed by recognised frameworks including Safe & Together Model, trauma-informed practice, strengths-based planning, and recovery-oriented practice.
