Emmy brings a wealth of experience and empathy to her role as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Insightful Impact within the Western Sydney region. For almost 10 years, she has been working and volunteering within mental health settings.
Emmy has worked within the disability sector as a support coordinator and behaviour support practitioner, providing support to adults and children with mental disabilities. She has previously worked as a school counsellor delivering social and emotional wellbeing programs to school-aged children during the pandemic.
Fluent in Arabic (Egyptian dialect) in addition to English, Emmy’s bilingual proficiency enhances her ability to connect with participants and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Given her lived experience, she understands the importance of culturally-informed and safe care.
Emmy’s approach to behaviour support and mental health is grounded in warmth, empathy, and a holistic perspective. She believes in addressing the needs of individuals comprehensively and integrates empirical evidence into her work, adhering to the scientist-practitioner model.
She is known for her compassionate nature and genuine care for the well-being of her participants.
Emmy currently holds her provisional registration as a psychologist and is completing her Masters in Clinical Psychology. She has a passion for research, specificially regarding parent-child relationships and intergenerational trauma within diverse families.
