Shane brings extensive experience to Insightful Impact as a mental health occupational therapist, with more than 10 years supporting young people and adults with psychosocial, neurodevelopmental, intellectual and cognitive disabilities. His practice has developed across not-for-profit services, public mental health settings and private practice, giving him a strong understanding of the complex systems, environments and life experiences that can influence a person’s wellbeing and behaviour.
Shane has worked alongside people experiencing significant mental health challenges, homelessness, social disadvantage, refugee and asylum seeker experiences, and other complex life circumstances. This has shaped a compassionate, practical and highly individualised approach to support.
Alongside his occupational therapy background, Shane has completed studies in psychology and theology, and has undertaken further learning in areas such as yoga instruction, community engagement, forest therapy and psychotherapeutic approaches. This broad knowledge base allows him to draw on a diverse range of strategies when supporting people, families and teams.
At Insightful Impact, Shane’s work is grounded in person-centred, holistic and strengths-based practice. He is passionate about supporting people to build meaningful lives, improve wellbeing and access support that respects their individual experiences, goals and identity. His approach reflects a genuine commitment to walking alongside people with empathy, curiosity and care.
