About Thomas Thongvilu

Thomas is an emerging Behaviour Support Practitioner. With over four years of hands-on experience in the disability sector, including roles in day programs, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short-Term Accommodation (STA), and in-home care. Thomas brings a well-rounded and compassionate approach to his practice.

With a background in Youth Work and Community Services, Thomas offers a unique perspective on disability support. His experience supporting teenagers in educational settings has equipped him with creative and adaptive ways to build meaningful connections. Known for his cheerful and approachable nature, Thomas is equally committed to delivering person-centred support and fostering strong, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.

Growing up in Western Sydney and coming from a culturally diverse background, Thomas has the ability to connect with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. Through his work, Thomas looks to serve the community by bridging the gap of understanding between the wider community and people with disabilities. Thomas’ core beliefs revolve around culturally safe practices, a curious approach with a desire to understand, upholding human rights for marginalised people and valuing autonomy and dignity.
