Daniel works as a Behaviour Support Practitioner for Insightful Impact.
Daniel has 15 years’ experience working with people with disabilities, including roles as a disability support worker and as a Community Corrections Officer within the criminal justice system. This background has supported Daniel to develop a strong understanding of complex systems, risk reduction, and the interaction between disability, mental health, and environmental factors when planning support.
Daniel has specific experience and professional interest in supporting people who experience mental health challenges and drug and alcohol concerns. He has 10 years’ experience implementing cognitive behavioural therapy–informed strategies with complex populations. He uses these evidenced based person-centred approaches to support participants to develop functional skills related to emotional regulation, problem solving, and coping with mental health barriers and reducing engagement in behaviours of concerns. Through structured skill development and capacity building, Daniel supports participants to improve functioning, increase independence, and enhance overall quality of life in alignment with participant-identified goals and NDIS outcomes.
Daniel’s practice is underpinned by strong skills in recognising, assessing, and minimising risk. He applies a risk, needs, and responsivity framework to inform behaviour support planning, with a focus on reducing behaviours of concern, and supporting participants to engage safely and meaningfully in daily life.
