About Sharlene Ryan

Sharlene is a Behaviour Support Practitioner (No: 1958290). with Impactful Insight based in Bathurst who provides services to the Orange, Dubbo, and wider Central Western region. As a NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioner Sharlene provides behaviour support services to individuals within the context of the National Disability Insurance Scheme funded supports. This includes behavioural assessments, behaviour support plan development with strategies and training which fundamentally aim to address the function of behaviour/s in safe and positive manner.

Since commencing work in the disability service sector in 2015, Sharlene’s curious and empathetic nature has provided her with opportunities to work in Day Program, in home community care, and in short term accommodation settings with clients with high intensity behavioural support needs and complex physical supports needs. She has also worked as a Support Coordinator where she was able to develop a comprehensive applied knowledge of NDIS legislation, NDIS Plan implementation across a wide range of NDIS interfaces and complex service delivery models. Sharlene has an undergraduate degree with a Major in Psychology and minor in Education and has experience as a On Call Sexual Assault Counsellor.

Overall, Sharlene’s varied, and diverse experience enables her to develop behaviour support plans and training which are person centred and engaging for both informal and formal support, which retain the focus on individual wellbeing and quality of life.

Comprehensive applied knowledge of NDIS legislation, NDIS plan implementation with a wide range of interfaces such as health, psychosocial, palliative and DCJ participants; coordination of complex service models and supports under the NDIS. I have also developed a comprehensive and applied understanding of Positive Behavior Support in relation to plan development and implementation with both formal and informal supports within the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission legislative requirements and related frameworks.
